Refresh for Spring with Botox in Point Loma at Eye Candy Studio!

Spring is here, the sun is out in San Diego (for now, at least!) and we’re getting so excited for longer days and warmer temperatures. With a new season comes a great opportunity to revel in some self-care to help you feel your best all year long - and we’re super thrilled to offer a new service at Eye Candy Studio that does exactly that: Botox!

Starting with our first event on April 1, Eye Candy will periodically host the experienced, professional, and wonderful Ashley Goodacre, a physician associate that works closely with Dr Steven R Cohen at Faces+, for Botox events at our Point Loma studio, bringing this rejuvenating and refreshing treatment to our San Diego clients. If you’re looking for Botox in Point Loma, look no further.

If you’ve never had a Botox treatment, you might have some questions - from what is Botox and how much does it cost, to does Botox hurt and what can it treat. We have some answers to our most often heard questions below (and remember, if you ever have any questions about any treatment we offer at Eye Candy, don’t hesitate to reach out!)

What is Botox? According to Mayo Clinic, “Botox injections are shots that use a toxin to prevent a muscle from moving for a limited time. These shots are often used to smooth wrinkles on the face.” It might seem scary to see the word “toxin” and “injection” in the same sentence, but rest assured, Mayo Clinic advises that “as a rule, the bacteria toxins used for medical purposes are not harmful if used correctly.”

How much does Botox cost? Ashley offers Botox at $13 per unit. How many units will you need? It depends on how many areas of the face you wish to treat, and what you’re looking to achieve. Patients can expect anywhere from 10 - 50 units, so cost can be anywhere from $130 - $650 per session.

Which wrinkles can I treat with Botox? While Botox is also used to help with neck spasms and sweating underarms, when it comes to treating facial wrinkles, Botox is very effective at minimizing lines between your eyes (glabellar lines), on the sides of your eyes (crows feet), forehead lines, lines around the mouth, and even around the eyebrows for a subtle lift.

Does Botox hurt? Everyone has a different pain tolerance, but we can say from experience that Botox injections are only slightly uncomfortable, and ultra quick - most appointments only last about 15 minutes, with the actual injection process taking a couple minutes at most!

Will I look frozen after getting Botox? With a great injector like Ashley, you’ll look refreshed and youthful without looking frozen or over-done. You can always request to go with a more conservative amount of units for a more natural look, or be more liberal with them for a smoother visage. During your consultation with Ashley, you can discuss all your skin goals to be sure you achieve exactly the look you’re hoping for.

How long does it take to see Botox results? Botox does not make an instantaneous change. It generally takes 7-10 days to see initial results and up to two weeks to see full results. Depending on dosage, results can last for 3-4 months.
